I'm Álvaro Rodríguez Muñoz, a Spanish video game localization specialist who grew up surrounded by computers, consoles, and a ZX Spectrum that sparked everything. Ever since Horace & The Spiders caught my attention at the age of 5, I knew two things: I loved games, and I loved stories.
I then turned that passion into a profession, earning a Master's Degree in Audiovisual Translation: Localization, Subtitling and Dubbing at the University of Cadiz (Spain). Since 2012, I've specialized in video game localization for consoles, PC and mobile, collaborating on AAA titles, indie gems, strategy guides and marketing materials.
I've worked with major companies such as Sony PlayStation and international localization teams. My translation of Persona 5 Royal earned a finalist nomination for Best Translation of a Video Game at the IX ATRAE Awards in 2021.
What drives me is bringing games to life in Spanish with precision, nuance and creativity, without losing their original identity. Localization isn't just converting text; it's understanding emotion, humor, culture and what players expect to feel.
